Awards
While all of the students work hard at Master's, some students stand above the rest. Some are more willing to help or do an undesirable task. While many of these things go unnoticed, Master's does try to recognize those that demonstrate the attributes we are trying to encourage. At the end of each school year a number of students are recognized for the following awards:
Dean's List
Honor's List
This is awarded to full-time students who finish the semester with an adjusted grade point average (GPA minus demerits) above 3.75. This is the most prestigious academic standing for students, with less than 10% of the student body obtaining this award. Students that are on the Dean's List both semesters of the school year are acknowledged at graduation.
This is awarded to full-time students who finish the semester with a GPA above 3.50. A student who is on the Dean's List will not be on the Honor's List.
Graduation Honors
This is awarded to students who are receiving a four-year degree and have a GPA at or above 3.50 will be recognized at graduation for their academic achievement. They will be given the following distinctions based on their final GPA.
Cum Laude: 3.500-3.749
Magne Cum Laude: 3.750-3.899
Summa Cum Laude: 3.900-4.000
Joshua's Servant Heart Award
One male and one female student who excelled in Christian service are given this award each year . Those that receive this award are chosen by the administration because of their willingness to serve others with a cheerful heart, like Joshua of old. The key verse behind this award is Mark 10:44, "And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all." This award is presented at graduation.
Barnabas Encouragement Award
One male and one female student are given this award each year who, through their Christ-like spirit, strengthen and incite those around them for the things of God. The administration recognizes the recipients of this award because of their likeness to Barnabas, who was known in scripture as "the son of consolation." This award is presented at graduation.
Christian Womanhood Award
This award is given each year to a young lady who exemplifies what a Christian woman is to be. The administration recognizes the recipient of this award for her testimony of living a sincere Christian life with a "meek and quiet spirit." This award is presented at graduation.
Christian Manhood Award
This award is given each year to a young man who exemplifies what a Christian man is to be. The administration recognizes the recipient of this award for his strong character and faithful service to Christ, which he has performed in a humble, yet steadfast, manner. This award is presented at graduation.
Heaven 88.7 Recognition Award
This award is given each year to one male and one female student who have been diligent in their studies, in their service, but have not received recognition for their work. This award is sponsored by a church member and the recipients are recognized as the sponsors for an entire day of content on Heaven 88.7.
